- Once the repairs have been made, you or your mechanic should reset the airbag light to keep the computer functioning properly and to shut off the SRS warning light.
Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the “Acc” position, but don’t allow the engine to turn over.
Plug the OBD-II scanner into the diagnostic port under the steering column.
Wait for the scanner to read the codes and then press “Clear trouble codes” or “Reset” or some similar command to reset the airbag light.
Unplug the scanner from the port and start the engine. Verify that the SRS light has turned off.
