THE DIFFERENT SHADES OF SARAH HASSAN

She has the uncanny ability to sink so seamlessly into a role that Kenyans often find themselves unable to distinguish her from her TV characters. So according to many, this angel faced beauty started off as a naïve teenage high schooler on Tahidi High, dropped out and fell upon hard times as a street urchin on Demigods but later saw the light and finished her education to become a compassionate and caring nurse on Kenya’s first and only medical drama Saints.

And now, it seems, she’s made a drastic career change from life saving medicine to the cut throat world of Kenyan journalism on Maisha Magic’s new drama, Jane and Abel.

Sarah Hassan’s character Leah is a brilliant young journalist with high flying Simba Media Group. She is hard working, a little bit insecure of herself but 100 percent loyal. Even when everybody at Simba Media turns their backs on her mentor Patrick, she doesn’t… at first. But there’s more than enough temptation to do so. There are offers of money and high ranking positions and although she knows it wouldn’t be the nicest thing to stab Patrick in the back she starts to wonder why she should hide her light just because his doesn’t shine?

Will Leah remain in her mentor’s shadow, or step out and shine as bright as the star that she really is.

Catch Sarah Hassan this and every Wednesday through Friday 10 PM EAT only on Maisha Magic, DSTV channel 161.
