I am not a magazine consumer. I would be hard pressed to take out a magazine subscription and I only buy when there is someone I know personally on the cover and that rarely happens.
However when a friend called me and told me that Spielworks Media digital guy,’ Isaac Gabantu was featured in the True Love, East Africa. April issue, I thought he was stretching an April Fool’s joke. I rushed to the nearest supermarket and grabbed a copy.
Surprisingly, there he was, tucked in the inner pages, with that same signature “banange” smile. The title was exceedingly flattering and I wondered if it was a misprint “Online Whizz-kid”. Those of us who know Gabantu would call him many things but Online Whizz would certainly not jump to mind. I have been on the guy’s Facebook page and I follow him on Twitter and there is not much whizz happening there.
Nonetheless, we are still proud of him and he admittedly scored some good points as he shared thoughts on the digital space and the film industry in Kenya.
Why don’t you grab a copy and find out what this whizz-kid maneno is all about, No?
