One of the hallmarks of a great actor is their ability to totally lose themselves in the role they’re playing, so much so that the audience can’t discern actor from the fictional character. They become one in the viewers mind. This is exactly what Angel Waruinge was during her time on popular Citizen TV drama, Tahidi High.
So if you walked up to a random Kenyan and asked them if they knew of Angel Waruinge, you’d most likely be met by a polite and disappointed “no”. But go up to the same Kenyan and inquire of Ms. Morgan, and their eyes light up like Uhuru Park fireworks on new years eve!
This September, Ms. Waruinge seeks to set the bar even higher with a new role in the upcoming drama, Jane and Abel!
Aida Simba is the matriarch of the Simba Empire. A fierce lioness who rules over her pride with equal measures of love and ruthlessness. Family is everything to Aida and she would sacrifice anything and anyone for her’s. But even that is not enough as it seems like everything is conspiring against the Simbas: Her son’s dismal performance as CEO of Simba Media, her daughter’s bohemian, carefree attitude towards everything and an unknown enemy in the form of Jane Kazi who Aida thought she had buried long ago returns by malevolent spirit on a revenge mission.
